Rabbi Kook in Jaffa
Rav Abraham Isaac Kook the first Chief Rabbi of Israel was one of the most influential Jewish religious leaders in the 20th century. His ideas and inspiration still resounds loudly today in modern day Israel.
His first 10 years in Israel he spent as the Rabbi of the Jewish community in Jaffa. In Jaffa he first came into contact with the young leaders of the secular Zionist movement. His interaction with these future leaders in those formative years had a profound impact on him, as it did on them.
In this walking tour we will visit the Neve Tzedek neighborhood of Jaffa retracing the steps of Rav Kook and meeting some of the famous personalities that interacted with him.
